Women’s Sunday School Classes
Young women, single or married
Our group is mostly composed of young women varying in age, marital status, etc, but all are welcome. We tend to do our own curriculum in this class which allows us to study different aspects of the Bible. We get together regularly for service and fellowship as well as do projects together. We are the group who spearheads the Simple Sacrifice project each year and holds the church-wide bake sale. We are located in the lower level of the Family Life Center in the room with the Little Debbie sign. I hope to see you Sunday.
Age 50 and up
We are (hopefully) aging gracefully and trying to remain “young at heart!” We use Smith & Helwys literature when we aren’t doing a special studies like Victoriously Frazzled, Beth Moore, Max Lucado, Priscilla Shirer, and others. Several of our members are teachers. We are currently involved in a mentoring partnership with a young women’s class. We also help with Family Promise, the Fountain City Ministry Center, and other ministry opportunities as needed. We welcome all visitors and invite them to be Christ’s hands and feet with us!
Married and single, ages 55-68
We are a group of ladies whose average age is about 65, who are grandmothers and/or “empty nesters.” We meet on the third floor of the Lynnwood Building each Sunday morning at 9:15. Our lessons are from Lifeway’s “Bible Studies for Life” series. Each lesson is teacher led along with group discussions, questions and comments. We are also involved in church-related mission projects. We meet at 6 p.m. the first Monday of each month at a local restaurant for a meal and fellowship. All ladies are welcome to join us.”
The Joanna class is a group of young senior-adult women. We meet at 9:15 on Sunday mornings in the Berean room which is just off the Fellowship Hall. Using the theme-based Formations curriculum, we enjoy a rich fellowship as we engage in a teacher-led study of Scripture with plenty of discussion. We look forward to seeing you Sunday. ”
Age 60 and up
We study the Bible each week using the Explore the Bible series which takes us through every book of the Bible. Our teaching style is lecture and discussion. We have been active in ministry, including: the Fountain City Ministry Center, Camp BA-YO-CA, Mission of Hope, our youth choir, and many others. We are devoted to the Lord, His work, and supporting each other. We are strong prayer warriors for each other and those in need around our city and the world. We keep contact with the ladies who can no longer attend church. Monthly class meetings are held to enable closer communication and socialization and to coordinate ministry efforts.
70’s and a few 80’s
We are grandmothers, widows, divorcées, and married– all who are loving and caring. We have two teachers who alternate monthly using Bible Studies for Life for retired adults from Lifeway. We use a lecture/discussion teaching style; have a monthly class meeting with a meal at noon; and are very mission-minded with three sustained ministries and a different monthly project.
Ministry is the focus of the ladies in the Fidelis Class. We support the Fountain City Ministry Center, the ToyStore, Rainbow Acres, and the community of Fonde, Kentucky. Our Bible study focuses on the Exploring the Bible series where lecture and discussion increase our knowledge of the Bible.
