COVID-19 Update

Updated: April 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM

In person worship and Sunday School have returned! We are temporarily operating in a staggered service model. To be better stewards of our volunteer and custodial staff, both Catalyst and Classic services will be meeting in the sanctuary. The Classic service will be at 9am, Sunday School at 10am, and the Catalyst service at 11am.

Childcare will be available during both worship services beginning March 7. We will begin childcare (ages birth-PreK) for worship on a reservation-only basis. To reserve a place for your child in the nursery, you will need to text Cheyenne Duffy (865-368-6740) each week in order for her to have the adequate number of volunteers available to care for your child.

The Online Worship service will continue to be available through our multiple media options. These services can be found on our Facebook page (Live at 9am and 11am), Vimeo, or on the “Watch” or “Online Worship pages of this website (these will be posted later in the day on Sundays). Please be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram (@cbcfountaincity) and join our private “Central Baptist Church Fountain City” group to see updates or other opportunities. If you are not ready to join us in person, we invite you to continue joining us online each week.

We are excited about our opportunities to regather for worship! We pray that you will embrace these temporary changes as we continue to journey through this unusual time in our world’s history. We are excited for the future. Continue praying for your church and all of its ministries as we begin moving back into our building for worship.

The church office is open for regular business hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm (closed for lunch from 12-1pm). If you can accomplish something by phone or email, please do so. We also encourage you to give online or mail your offerings into the office instead of stopping by in person.

The Family Life Center is open with a new schedule and with a new rotation of classes. Please the Wellness Page of this website for full details. You can also call the FLC office at (865) 688-1206 with questions or to reserve the weight room for individual use.

The Fountain City Ministry Center continues to provide service to patrons; however, they have shifted to a drive thru model to respect hygiene. If you or someone you know is in need, please visit their website for the schedule: fcministry.org.

Childcare at the Early Childhood Center (ECC) and the School Age Program (SAP) has returned to caring for all students as space allows. Classes are limited to 10 to maintain a healthy level of separation and distancing, for the protection of children, families, and those helping to serve us during the pandemic.

Please know that while ministry efforts (like life situations) are shifting rapidly, they are not shutting down. We are actively discussing the best ways for us to continue to serve our community as the Body of Christ and to continue to provide leadership in those efforts. This does, however, require continued funding of ministry through tithes and offerings.

We appreciate your faithfulness to stewardship in support of the ministries at Central Baptist to date, and hope that you will continue to help us financially support ministry through this difficult time. The best ways for doing this include mailing your offering to the church office, giving online at cbcfc.org/give, or by completing an automatic draft form that the office can email to you (you can reach them at office@cbcfc.org).

These are challenging times, but not hopeless times, because we serve the risen Christ who makes all things new–even our efforts at ministering to our community in their need. We look forward to being the hands and feet of Christ together as we embrace the days and opportunities before us.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”  -Romans 15:13
