The Coronavirus pandemic facing our nation and world has required substantial decisions and precautions to be taken in all areas of life. With that in mind, as a joint decision of the CBCFC Ministry Leadership Team and the Administrative Council, we are making the following changes:
Effective immediately, all church buildings will be closed through Saturday, April 4. Church hosted and sponsored activities will be cancelled during this time, as well as any trips or events departing from the building or personal events that were to be held in the building. For the time being, office staff will remain in the building Monday-Thursday during regular office hours (8-12pm/1-5pm).
All Sunday and Wednesday activities will be cancelled until further notice. We will have online options in place for worship and small group gatherings as often as possible beginning on Sunday, March 22. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram (@cbcfountaincity) and join our private “Central Baptist Church Fountain City” group to see updates for these opportunities.
We encourage all Sunday School, SHARE Group, and LIFE leadership to stay in contact with your people as often as possible through phone and digital platforms in the place of in person visits.
The Fountain City Ministry Center will continue to provide food-only service to patrons; however, they have shifted to a drive thru model to respect hygiene. If you or someone you know is in need, please visit their website for the schedule: fcministry.org.
Childcare at the Early Childhood Center (ECC) and School Age Program (SAP) will continue this week as normal with heightened attention given to hygiene. Further decisions will be made soon with regards to the schedule going forward.
Please know that while ministry efforts (like life situations) are shifting rapidly, they are not shutting down. We are actively discussing the best ways for us to continue to serve our community as the Body of Christ and to continue to provide leadership in those efforts. This does, however, require continued funding of ministry through tithes and offerings.
We appreciate your faithfulness to stewardship in support of the ministries at Central Baptist to date, and hope that you will continue to help us financially support ministry through this difficult time. The best ways for doing this include mailing your offering to the church office, giving online at cbcfc.org/give, or by completing an automatic draft form that the office can email to you (you can reach them at email@example.com).
These are challenging times, but not hopeless times, because we serve the risen Christ who makes all things new–even our efforts at ministering to our community in their need. We look forward to being the hands and feet of Christ together as we embrace the days and opportunities before us.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” -Romans 15:13
