In light of the Knox County Health Board’s continued recommendation of social gatherings of no larger than 10 people, we have made the decision to maintain online-only worship through Sunday, February 14.
Throughout this pandemic, we have continually adapted and changed plans in response to the coronavirus in hopes that we could “flatten the curve” until a vaccine could be developed and widely distributed. We are now facing the reality that the curve has become a steep incline and medical experts are warning that the virus is out of control.
Please continue to join us for online worship services on Sundays! These services can be found on our Facebook page, Vimeo, or on the “Watch” or “Online Worship pages of this website. Service videos will go live at 8am on Vimeo and the “Watch” page of this site, and we will host a Facebook Premiere at 10:30am. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram (@cbcfountaincity) and join our private “Central Baptist Church Fountain City” group to see updates or other opportunities.
The church office is open for regular business hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm (closed for lunch from 12-1pm). If you can accomplish something by phone or email, please do so. We also encourage you to give online or mail your offerings into the office instead of stopping by in person.
We encourage all Sunday School, SHARE Group, and LIFE leadership to stay in contact with your people as often as possible through phone and digital platforms, in outdoor and well-ventilated spaces, or in the large reservable spaces available at the church. If any classes are having issues setting up online platform meetings, please contact Josh at email@example.com.
The Family Life Center is open with a new schedule and in a limited fashion. Aerobics and exercise classes will be scheduled for the evenings, and the weight room will be available on a reservation basis. At the current time, racquetball courts will remain closed, and close contact activities like basketball will not yet resume. When a schedule of activities for a new month is finalized, it will be available on the Wellness Page of this website. You can also call the FLC office at (865) 688-1206 with questions or for information.
The Fountain City Ministry Center continues to provide service to patrons; however, they have shifted to a drive thru model to respect hygiene. If you or someone you know is in need, please visit their website for the schedule: fcministry.org.
Childcare at the Early Childhood Center (ECC) and the School Age Program (SAP) has returned to caring for all students as space allows. Classes are limited to 10 to maintain a healthy level of separation and distancing, for the protection of children, families, and those helping to serve us during the pandemic.
Please know that while ministry efforts (like life situations) are shifting rapidly, they are not shutting down. We are actively discussing the best ways for us to continue to serve our community as the Body of Christ and to continue to provide leadership in those efforts. This does, however, require continued funding of ministry through tithes and offerings.
We appreciate your faithfulness to stewardship in support of the ministries at Central Baptist to date, and hope that you will continue to help us financially support ministry through this difficult time. The best ways for doing this include mailing your offering to the church office, giving online at cbcfc.org/give, or by completing an automatic draft form that the office can email to you (you can reach them at firstname.lastname@example.org).
These are challenging times, but not hopeless times, because we serve the risen Christ who makes all things new–even our efforts at ministering to our community in their need. We look forward to being the hands and feet of Christ together as we embrace the days and opportunities before us.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” -Romans 15:13
