Youth Choir

Young people, Middle School—High School, sing in the

Youth Choir.  These youth rehearse each Sunday

afternoon from 5:00 until 6:00 during the school year.

The Youth Choir sings in worship service on

a regular basis throughout the school year. 

An annual Mission Trip is a highlight each summer.   

Tour dates and information will be announced at

Preschool (weeLIFE)

Central Baptist Church offers musical training for preschoolers ages 3-5.   These children meet on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 7:15 during the school year. These choirs provide opportunities for our preschoolers to grow spiritually and musically.  All music

is chosen with the goal of leading our children to a growing faith in Jesus Christ. The age-appropriate music they learn will help them explore their gifts, talents and abilities. We have an excellent staff who work with our preschoolers each week.

 

Children (LIFE for kids)

Central Baptist Church offers musical training for children in grades 1 through 5. These children meet on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:15 during the school year.

{LIFE Play in the Gym from 5:30-6:00; LIFE Act, top floor of Lynnwood Building and LIFE Song, in the Music Suite are from 6:00-7:15}.   These choirs provide opportunities for our children to grow spiritually and musically.   All music is chosen with the goal of leading our children  to a growing faith in Jesus Christ.  The age-appropriate music they learn will help them explore their gifts, talents and abilities. We have many well-trained volunteers who assist in our children’s choir ministry each week.

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir is open to adults who feel a call to serve God through the musical gifts He has given them. This choir leads in worship in the 10:30 Classic service each Sunday morning. The choir sings a wide variety of music -- many of the anthems

we sing are composed by our own Mary McDonald, who serves as our church organist.  This choir rehearses each Wednesday evening from 7:15 to 8:30 in the music suite.

 

JoyMakers

Central Baptist Church offers musical learning opportunities for people of all ages. The JoyMakers choir is designed for adults who are in their senior years. Past musical involvement is not a prerequisite for membership in this group. The JoyMakers visit many of the area nursing and assisted living facilities in the greater

Knoxville area. They bring the hymns of the faith to those who are no longer able to attend their own church. This choir rehearses each Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:15 from September through May.

Instrumental Ensembles

In addition to the many choirs at Central, there are several instrumentalists who assist in our times of worship. From Christmas productions to Easter programs and for various services throughout the year, we involve our instrumentalists as often as possible. If you have the ability to play an instrument and would like to be involved in the music ministry at Central, please contact the music office (688-2421) and talk with Bob Robinson.

 

Handbell Choirs

Central Baptist Church owns a five octave set of Schulmerich Handbells and two octaves of Mallmark Handchimes.

The adult handbell choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6:10 to 7:10.

The children’s bells are made up of children in our Young Musicians Choir. For more information concerning
