Frequently Asked Questions

What do I do when I arrive? Check-in Stations are located in the Preschool Hallway for Babies – 5K and in the Children’s Hallway in the Broadway Building for Grades 1-6.

Where should I park? The parking lot with the quickest route to the preschool and children’s departments is the parking lot on Gresham Rd.

An elevator is available from the Lynnwood Road lot.

What should I bring? Parents of babies through 2-year-olds should bring a diaper bag containing diapers, wipes, bottle or cup (if needed), a change of clothing, and any other necessary items. Please write your child’s name on all items.

Parents of preschoolers are encouraged to bring offering money, a Bible, and a bag to carry home projects.

What should my child wear?  Children should wear clothing in which they are comfortable and able to participate in activities. They may be either casual or dressy.

What class will my child attend? Preschoolers attend classes according to their age on September 30 of the current school year.  1st-5th graders attend classes on their school grade level.

What about safety and security?

Security – A security tag system is used for dismissal from classrooms of infants through age five. Children are dismissed only to an adult presenting the tag with the matching ID number to the child’s teacher. Parents are contacted by cell phone or church-provided vibrating pagers if the baby needs special care.

Safety – All classes have low teacher-to-pupil ratios to ensure a safe and positive learning environment. Younger classes have a minimum of two adult teachers, and all adult volunteers have been screened, (including a mandatory national background check). Older classes will have two workers, one worker might be an older screened youth with a seasoned adult worker.

What about health and hygiene?  Universal health standards are followed and teachers in babies and one-year-old classrooms use gloves for diaper changing and to sanitize toys after each teaching session.

What will my child do?   Children will have a great time learning about God, Jesus, the Bible, creation, family, self, church, community, and the world through active involvement in hands-on, age-appropriate learning experiences during Sunday and Wednesday programs.
